THE BEAUTIFUL MINISTRY
The Beautiful Game
WFP is delighted to host the World Cup pool for the BC Government's Ministry of Environment – Nanaimo office. They're an odd bunch but then you'd be too if you worked with excrement! Still, some appear to know their football and the race is on to gather the most points all the way to the Final, July 9.
Each player has picked up to 5 teams, and the charts at right plot the progress of both the teams and the points they amass for reaching each stage.
At bottom-right is the grand total scored by each player. Should one or more be tied July 9, we use the teams listed bottom-left to break it.

DICK rose above the pack
at the Semi's and never
looked back, finishing the
show the uncontested
winner with 210 pts.
RUDY, RANDY and DAVE T.
were deadlocked with
160 pts. The two-part
tiebreaker seperated RUDY
from the rubble and forced
an unprecedented
random draw by the
Baxter Foundation to
determine 3rd Place.
Randy was sniffed out first
to resign Dave T. to the
pit of despair shared by
14 other MOE co-workers.

But wait, there's more...
'Dan Sirk yes, I read the rules but I was sure they must be wrong because nobody does it that way Consolation Prize'
Based on the combination of the points earned by the single best regular pick, plus the tiebreakers, we did in fact have a second deadlock, this time between BERNIE and, still searching for glory DAVE T., both with 90 pts. Again the Baxter Foundation broke the draw and this time Dave T. did in fact smell much more enticing than the competition.
Unfortunately out-on-a-limb Dan did not place in the consolation Prize created in his honour.
