PETER CROUCH Before the uncanny eye of Sven spotted his gangly frame, the 6'7", 170lb England striker was just another freakishly tall guy only a mother could love. The 25-year-old Crouch worked odd construction jobs... as a ladder, while plying England's lower leagues with QPR, Portsmouth, Aston Villa, Norwich City and Southampton before finally signing with Liverpool in 2005 as a floodlamp pole.

Crouch has since been capped 10 times and scored six goals (June 20) for Queen and country. On the way he's stolen the hearts of millions of World Cup fans much like Eddy the Eagle kept Olympic faithful wondering "What the !@#$". He's brilliant, he's absurd, he staggers the imagination and even has his own dance step that has the whole country doing the 'Crouch Robot'. It only stands to reason that a man as uniquely evolved as Crouch can likely do anything....
