The first leg of the semi-final will be played on Tuesday 30 April at the Allianz Arena

Two of the most powerful and popular teams in the world will face each other in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich will play for a ticket to the final of Europe's top club competition to be played on 1 June at Wembley Stadium in England.

The rivalry between the two teams is the most repeated in the history of the Champions League with 26 matches played between the two, with 12 wins for Los Blancos and 11 for the Bavarians, as well as three draws.

The last time the two sides met was at the same stage, in the 2017/18 Champions League semi-finals, and ended with the Spaniards winning 4-3 on aggregate, after Madrid won the first leg 2-1 in Munich, and both drew 2-2 in a dramatic encounter at the Bernabeu.

Bayern Munich will play their 21st semi-final in the history of the tournament, and 13th in the Champions League era, numbers that are second only to Real Madrid, who are in the last four for the 33rd time, and 17th in the new era of the Champions League, both tournament records.

The pair meet in the semi-finals for the eighth time in history.
