Rasmus Hojlund fires blunt message to Manchester United critics after Erik ten Hag decision

Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has fired a blunt message to his critics after his out-of-form spell in front of goal continued over the weekend. The striker failed to help United defeat bottom-three side Burnley on Saturday as they were held to a 1-1 draw.

Hojlund has scored just one goal in his last six Premier League games, coming in the 4-2 win over Sheffield United. After missing the defeats to Fulham and Manchester City, he has failed to rediscover the form on display in January.

Starting on Boxing Day, the 21-year-old scored seven goals in six games, assisting a further two, but he's been unable to rediscover that form in recent weeks.

After joining from Atalanta in the summer, it took Hojlund 14 league games to score his first goal after netting five in the Champions League group stages.

Following Saturday's disappointing draw with Burnley, the Denmark international took to Instagram to sum-up his feelings. On his story, he posted an image of him looking frustrated against Vincent Kompany's side.

It comes after Hojlund seemed to be frustrated at being replaced at Old Trafford. With the score level, Erik ten Hag decided to take off the striker and Kobbie Mainoo for Amad Diallo and Scott McTominay in the 65th minute.

The decision was greeted by boos from the home crowd before fan footage showed the Danish star looking surprised. The forward was caught on camera as he made his way off the pitch near the goal line, pulling a face and offering a tilt of the head to the double change.
